March 2, 2006. The videoconference devoted
to 5th Anniversary of the Distance Learning Center,
Global Development Learning Network, World Bank,
took place at the Center
Rector of the National Academy of Public Administration, the President of Ukraine Volodymyr Luhoviy, opened videoconference.
Svitlana Kalashnikova, Vice-Rector for International Relations of the Academy presented the achievements of the Center.
At the videoconference were present:
- the Ambassador of Canada in Ukraine,
- representatives of the Secretariat of the President of Ukraine,
- Canadian International Development Agency,
- Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine,
- Main Department of Civil Service of Ukraine,
- Academy of Distance Education,
- Center's partners, teachers and
- representatives from "Uryadovy Kuryer Newspaper" and "Education in Ukraine" newspaper.
With congratulation words addressed a meeting
- Abina M. Dann - High and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of Canada in Ukraine;
- Evelyn Lee - Counsellor - Head of Technical Cooperation Section, Canadian Embassy in Ukraine;
- Monika Weber-Fahr - Manager GDLN Services;
- Gary Fine - Regional Coordinator GDLN of the World Bank, Europe and Central Asia;
- Povilas Abarius - Director of Vilnius University's Distance Learning Center;
- Siddiq K. Fazley - Professor of Economics, Acting Director, School of Public Administration, Dalhousie University;
- Volodymyr Soroko - Deputy-head of Main Department of Civil Service of Ukraine;
- Mykhailo Bunchuk - GDLN coordinator in Russia and CIS countries;
- Victor Lysytskiy- Former Government Secretary of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine, Adviser to the Head of Privatbank Executive Board;
- Petro Nadolishniy, Iryna Chykarenko, Yuriy Piharev - regional institutions' representatives.
By means of modern technical tools all videoconference participants had the opportunity to watch presentation and film about the Distance Learning Center in real mode.
