The basic subject direction of the magazine is illuminating the actual questions of the administration theory and methodology, the regional administration, the local self-government and the administration of the populating places.

In the magazine there is widely illuminating the progressive native and foreign experience of local organs of the executive power activity and the local self-government organs activity, state policy of supporting the regions, cities and towns development, the newest local initiatives.

An edition is publishing informational materials, announcements and reviews; emphasizing the passages for the public discussion of the law projects and the normative documents.
